TOURNAMENT POLICIES

TOURNAMENT ACCEPTANCE NOTICE
Players will be notified, via email, of their tournament status (secured a spot in the starting field or on the waiting list) no later than five (5) days before the start of the tournament. It is the player's responsibility to log on to the website to check the starting field, write down their tee time, schedule a practice round, and secure hotel reservations.

PAIRINGS/STARTING TIMES
Information concerning parings, starting times, etc., will be posted on the website no later than 2 days after the tournament entry deadline and will be emailed to players and parents.

ALTERNATES
In the event of the competition being oversubscribed, the order of alternate players will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis. This will be done immediately after the closing date for entries. All unsuccessful entrants will be notified without delay, but may be given an opportunity to compete if withdrawals subsequently occur. Entry fees will be refunded to those entrants on the waiting list who do not make into the tournament.

COURSE YARDAGE
Tournament yardage will vary based on the following factors: strength of field, overall difficulty of the golf course and daily weather conditions. On average, the following yardages will be used:

  1. Boys 14 & Under (6,200-6,600)
  2. Boys 15-18 (6,800+)
  3. Girls 14 & Under (5,800-6,200)
  4. Girls 15-18 (5,800-6,200)

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES
The use of distance measuring devices of any kind are NOT permitted during tournament play. They are permitted during practice rounds.

TRAVEL AND LODGING
Information about the host hotel, discounted room rate, telephone numbers, and directions to the hotel will be posted on the website on the championship's Tournament Information page.

PRACTICE ROUND
Players will be responsible for calling the host facility to schedule practice rounds. The practice rounds are optional and green fees are not included in the tournament entry fee. However, the Legends Junior Tour will attempt to negotiate a reduced rate for practice rounds at the host facility.

PLAYER REGISTRATOIN
Generally speaking, registration will be held at the tournament site starting approximately 60 minutes prior to the first tee time on Day One. Participants must register at the designated registration area prior to the first round. Players will receive their tee gift at that time. Players must then report to their starting tee 10 minutes prior to their starting time. Players are not required to check-in prior to Round 2.

FIRST ROUND
The Legends Junior Tour recommends that players always double-check their tee time. The penalty for failure to show up on time is two-strokes or possible disqualification. (Please refer to USGA Rule 6-3 for more information.)

SECOND/FINAL ROUND
After the completion of the first round, all competitors will be re-paired (by score and within their division) for the second/final round. Second and/or final round parings will be available approximately 1 – 2 hours after the conclusion of the first round of play and can be found posted on the website, at the scoreboard, or by calling the pro shop. Pairings will also be emailed to all players.

TIES
Any ties for first place will be decided by a “sudden death” playoff. Ties for second place will be decided by matching scorecards. The following procedure will be used until the tie is broken:

  1. Low final round score
  2. Low score for the final nine (9) holes
  3. Low score on holes #13-#18
  4. Low score on holes #16-#18
  5. Low score on #18
  6. Process repeated on front side
The process of matching scorecards is used only to determine which player will receive the 2nd place trophy and exemptions, but will not affect the number of Player of the Year points awarded.

AWARDS CEREMONY
Trophies will be awarded to the top two places in each age division. The trophy presentation will take place at the scoreboard immediately following the conclusion of play.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY

PRIOR TO CANCELLATION DEADLINE
If it becomes necessary for a player to withdraw from a tournament that they have been accepted to play in, he or she must logon to BlueGolf and withdraw themselves from the event by hitting the “cancel” link on your tournaments tab. Once reviewed by the tournament committee and the withdrawal is accepted, a refund will be issued minus a $25 administrative fee. Players may also call the Legends Junior Tour office at (214) 468-8955 to cancel.

AFTER CANCELLATION DEADLINE
If a player withdraws after the cancellation deadline date or if they No Show to an event, they are not entitled to an entry fee refund. The following are the only exceptions:

A player is entitled to a full refund if he/she:

  1. Qualifies for an AJGA event over the same dates.
  2. Qualifies for any USGA national championship over the same dates.
  3. Qualifies for any national competition that is affiliated with the Legends Junior Tour.

A player is entitled to a refund minus a $25 administrative fee:
  1. If an injury is sustained leading up to the event. Documentation from a doctor is required.
  2. If a player has a death in the family.

Refunds will not be issued to those who withdraw because of “double scheduling” or qualifying for any other kind of tournament other than those listed above.

In an exceptional circumstance, a player may file a written appeal for a refund to the Legends Junior Tour Executive Committee. These appeals will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

DURING THE TOURNAMENT
Upon commencement of play, any withdrawals for reasons other than family or medical emergencies will not be considered acceptable. For example, withdrawing because of poor play or “being out of the running” is not acceptable.

Players that “No Show” after a round of play will receive a warning from the Legends Tour and may:

  1. Be suspended from entering the next event or;
  2. Be withdrawn from the next event.
A player that is disqualified during a tournament is not entitled to a refund.

SITE TRANSFER
For typical Legends Tour events, a player may transfer his/her registration fee to a different event should they need to withdraw if they meet ALL of the following requirements:

  1. The tournament they wish to transfer to is currently open to registration.
  2. The registration deadline for the tournament they are withdrawing from has not passed.
  3. They meet all eligibility requirements for that event. (For example, a player may not transfer from an "Open" event to an invitational if they were not previously eligible).
*Transferring sites does not guarantee a spot in the field for that event.
